John Nilssen

Inducted May 15, 1965

John was born July 8, 1877. During his life, he became a World Outdoor and an Indoor Champion, peaking in 1900.

John broke the world’s professional record in the two and three mile races on February 3, 1900, in Montreal under the auspices of the Canadian Skating Association. 2 miles – 5:33.8  and 3 miles – 8:41.3

He was inducted into the National Speedskating Hall of Fame on May 15, 1965 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
